Overflow crowds, the latest knives, award winners, Cutlery Hall of Famers and scads of sharp stuff in general made the 2014 BLADE Show a smash success.
Held June 6-8 at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, the BLADE Show is the world's largest and most important knife event, and the 33rd annual rendition this past weekend surpassed all expectations.
Steve Shackleford, editor of BLADE, wraps up the summary of the 2014 BLADE Show quite nicely on The BLADE Blog. Things ended just as well for us at SOG.
Awarded the 2014 BLADE Show Accessory Of The Year Award, the BladeLight Sheath is currently available with the BladeLight Camp, Tactical, and Fillets. It features a built in sharpener cord and cutting groove in a Kydex-esque, hard nylon construction. The gaps along the sheath to allow easy evaporation and drainage. There are holes on the sheath near the bolster of the knife designed to let the light to pass through where the LEDs are located. This lets you use it as a quick flashlight without risking injury to others if the blade was unsheathed. All this makes the BladeLight and BladeLight Sheath combo a great tool to have on you whether you are camping, hunting, fishing, or any other outdoor activity. Check out the other award winners. Congratulations to all of them.
Even without an appearance by the Gunny or bargain basement sales, spectators and show-goers frequented the new SOG booth to explore, learn about, and play with our newest products. Some of the models that caught the attention of many were the Zooms, Flashbacks, Trident Elites, BladeLights, and Kikus. See you next year!
