With one of the more dramatic blade shapes in the SOG arsenal, the Creed is a definite head-turner. It is not only attractive, it also delivers on its promise of high-level performance. The very stout front end weighs the knife forward for chopping and piercing. The big belly on the blade maximizes the cutting edge for wilderness and hunting situations. The Tech Bowie handle provides a confident grip in inclement weather. This is a great example of a collectable and working knife coming together.

SOG's unique cryogenic heat treatment process slowly decreases the knife temperature to -300 F, then brings it back up to room temperature again. This process relieves the blade material on an atomic level, resulting in an overall increase in toughness and heightened wear-resistance. Additionally, knife edges stay sharper longer and demonstrate a significant decrease in micro-fracturing and edge-chipping.

Is now my go to when I leave the cabinI have bought many knives over the years and learnt a long time ago that it's worth spending the extra buck. The knives I now take with me are a Flash II, SOG Force, Falkniven F1 and the SOG Creed.
At first I thought the Creed would just be a sometimes knife, however it has turned into my go to for my hip while the Force and Falkniven stay on the pack until they are needed, which isn't often.
It may lack a little for delicate work (although once you're used to the knife it's absolutely possible) but the edge is fantastic, easy to sharpen and even after hacking down smaller trees to make a hunting blind (which really should have been done with an axe) and being used all day in the field the edge hardly needs a touchup.
You can slash, baton, hack, cut, slice, scrape and not need to worry about the blade, which at first I did. Now, I'll pull it out without much of a care.
The Force and Falkniven still have their uses and are used very often, but this is the one I have on my belt when only one is there.
The only thing I don't like is the sheathe. It doesn't hold the knife in after a while so I've had to devise a backup with paracord. A Kydex sheathe for this knife would be a great bonus, or at the least a much better leather one. And the only problem I've had was the butt unscrewed. A quick chat with SOG and they would have fixed it themselves but suggested a touch of Threadlock. It's not as big a problem as it sounds and takes absolutely nothing away from the knife.
Nothing is invincible, everything can be broken, but take good care of you gear and your gear will take good care of you.

That's a knifeGot this knife for camp work and the blade hasn't let me down yet. That said, the sheath as mentioned in another review could use some work. The retaining strap does very little to secure the blade once it's been used and stretched out a bit. I've had to modify the sheath with a second strap around the handle to allow me to carry it in the field, and I've also been looking into Kydex alternatives. But as far as the knife itself goes, it does the job very well. Great forward balance allowing for effortless chopping, and the huge belly makes for great slicing and skinning even when it's been dulled. I'd like the hilt to be a little more substantial for better strap retention and confidence that I won't slip my hand onto the blade when slick, and the grip is a little less effective than I'd like. I plan on wrapping it with paracord for more confident use in some situations, as it seems to have been made for smaller than average hands.

Excellent Quality KnifeThis is a great tactical/hunting knife. It's sharp right out of the box and keeps an edge. At first I thought it was going to be nose heavy but it really is a well balanced knife. There are cheaper knives but if you want quality this is a great choice.

Rusted/spotted/stained blades or handles (coated or not), broken or bent knife tips, worn tool components, dull/chipped knife blades, scratched blade/tool coatings, worn/loose Kraton slabs, sheaths and pouches (if brand new sheaths are determined to be defective they are replaced separately from the knife/tool), and broken/lost thumb studs.
Pocket clips can be broken if they are accidentally caught on foreign objects while wearing.
