The SOG Trident uses our well-proven means of delivering a knife blade to the open position with S.A.T. (SOG Assisted Technology) Now using our patent pending Arc-Actuator, the Trident locks stronger and releases easier. There is also a built-in safety to lock the blade closed. When it shows red, you are ready to go.

What also makes the Trident so unique is the patent pending Groove in the handle, which allows the operator to cut paracord, fishing line, etc. without having to open the blade. The handle also includes a Digi-Grip variable pattern for coarser grip in areas that require it. Our bayonet style clip is easily switched for right/left hand carry or removed for pouch storage.

    Tester Review:

I had an opportunity to test the SOG Trident Folder knife. This knife is flat out awesome. It has a great design. Finger grips, belt clip, lanyard hole, safety latch and the S.A.T. which practically opens the knife for you once you start the motion. The safety gives you the comfort of knowing the knife will not open on you by accident but is positioned and marked in red for quick deployment. It also has a cutting grove which worked great. I tried it on some webbing and a seat belt and it went through with no problem. My particular knife had a tiger stripe blade which just set off the knife.

I would recommend this knife to anyone. It is one of the best I have seen.

    SOG Assisted Technology

    SOG Assisted Technology

SOG Assisted Technology (S.A.T.) works through the balance of opposing high-tension coil springs. As you initiate the opening action, the force propelling your blade open becomes greater than the force keeping it closed. The result is a blade that springs open instantly once it is engaged, seemingly on its own.

Customer Ratings & Reviews

Trident is rated 4.875 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent knife Easily one of the most favored knife I own. Aside from looks, (as it looks great), this knife has exceeded my expectations. It is well constructed and has maintained its edge through a great deal of use. I have several SOG knives and have yet to be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for a EDC knife I bought a tiger stripe trident about 2 years ago as my edc knife and in that time it has done everything i could have wanted and it still has a lot of life left in it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight & Strong - Love the Tridents Lightweight & Strong - Love the SOG Tridents - Have now owned this knife in all 3 colors (Digital Camo, Desert Digital, & black) for 5-6 years. All get used regularly and have held up well. The digital camo version has been used most often and is usually part of my EDC. These knives are really light weight. The clip allows deep pocket carry where the knife is not seen, only the clip. After 5-6 years use, no wobble in the blade. Clip still strong. Still deploys very quickly. No fit or finish issues at all. I know a lot of people do not like serrations but for my daily usage, they work well & I like them when opening boxes with heavy packing tape. Blade retains a great edge. Can't say enough good things about the Trident. Just a really great large yet lightweight knife for the money. I own 3 SOG Trident folders, 1 SOG Seal Team Elite, 1 SOG Power Assist, 1 SOG Paratool, 1 SOG Entrenching Tool, 1 SOG DE-02 flashlight.  After hard use none have ever failed me.  Can you tell I Love SOG products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life saver!!! I Don't normally buy serrated blades but luckily I did with this one. I needed a saw for a friend's home repair job but left it at my home. I had no trouble sawing a 2 inch pipe with this knife. I also love the digital camo pattern, I would like to have another in straight edge as well. thanks sog

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Trident Initial Review The knife seems very cheap, probably due to the light weight. Had it in my pocket for only a couple days and the "Stylized SOG" pocket clip bent! it's only made from cheap metal, not a spring steel as you would think. DISAPPOINTED! Guess it won't be able to stand up to Every-day-carry if it cant even handle that typical issue among pocket carry knives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ONE hELL OF A FOLDER I am active duty military and usually carry benchmades. Picked this little guy up at the BX for like 70 bucks or so. This knife will stab all the way through a Kevlar vest repeatedly (rare) Lightweight Camo works excellent. bLADE LENGTH IS PERFECT hANDLE IS NICE AND LONG Ergo is great Nice big lanyard hole Grips well all around (SOG knives rock at this) Lock will fail if used to baton through wood but from what I hear SOG knives are warranted for life, so beat away Para-cord cutter works excellent provided the blade is LOCKED or held tight from trying to open while using and provided it is sharp. When I first got it I couldn't get the cord cutter to work but I quickly discovered the reason is because if you don't lock the blade or push on it, the cord will just push the blade out like if you were going to open the knife. Once I put my thumb on the back of the blade and held it while closed, it cut through every time. Great job with the low profile pocket clip. Please make a steel liner "beefy" version at less than 4.5 oz. Great job SOG, well done, gorgeous combat backup blade
