Description

Like the Pentagon series, the Spec Elite series is designed as a backup and go-to tool for military and law enforcement personnel. Instead of a partially serrated spear point blade, the Spec Elite employs a clip point blade with a straight edge made in high quality VG-10 steel. Extremely lightweight, the Spec Elite features a hard anodized machined aluminum handle that provides sensational feel and balance. The strong Arc-Lock mechanism can hold over 1000 lbs. of force at the pivot. It can be carried conveniently with its reversible low-carry pocket clip.

    Vg10

VG-10 is well-known high-end Japanese steel and is considered premium. It contains vanadium which is known for its toughness. Customer Ratings & Reviews

Spec Elite I - Clam Pack is rated 4.9444 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features and Durable I've had this knife for over a year and use it on the farm for everything from cutting straps and hay bales to digging in the dirt. It resharpens easily but also holds an edge. I especially like being able to open it with one hand with gloves on in the winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from tough knife for any use even if lost then found Spec elite was first SOG knife I bought. Sharp right out of the box. I used it on a regular basis. One time during xmas holidays I was hanging lights in the snow somehow lost it. I was so bumbed out I bought another one, the following year while hanging lights again I heard a noise and out of the hollies my first elite fell out other than some slight oxidation which cleaned up easy, it was in great shape. A whole year exposed to the elements still a useful tool. Since, I bought a mini elite ,2 tridents, and a xl which I gave as a gift. I never go any place with out one of them with me

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Hunting Sidekick I have owned this tool for the past year, purchasing it for a dependable knife on my upland game hunting trips. It has seen considerable use and looks like the day it was purchased. Good size and quality with a blade that holds it's edge. A light weight for all day carry in the field but up to any task I have thrown at it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Tactical Folder - Hands Down ! This is my 2nd Spec-Elite I....I trust this knife so much that I gave my Son-In-Law both my original Spec-Elite I & Spec-Elite II for his deployment to Afghanistan supporting SOF Teams .... that is about the highest KUDOs I can give any product. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Everyday Carry! Bought this knife 7 years ago and have carried it my pocket everyday since. I love this knife. It was the first SOG I ever had and was the first one in my collection that has now grow to multiple different SOG knifes and tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Grip I've owned this spec-Elite I for 4 years. Still looks good and works great. Blade holds a good edge. My hands are a little big, so the grip is perfect. Don't go anywhere without it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A lot of pro's, and a couple of con's. If I, never use my SOG Spec Elite ever again it will have paid for itself 10 times over today. While unloading at a customer this morning I, noticed that a strip of tread had peeled off the tire on the rear axle of the trailer. So I, climbed under and started to try to pry it loose to no avail. Then I, remembered that I, have about a dozen knives in my pocket,* so I, grabbed the SOG and cut the tread in half. The whole job took about 5 minutes. *This may be a slight exaggeration. This knife is an EDC for fighting, heavy duty utility, and food prep. Usually I, will have this one, and a smaller blade for the light duty chores. The size, weight, and heavy duty construction is all very good on this knife. The clip was bent within a week or two after I, started carrying it, so I, removed it, straightened it, the sent it to a former girlfriend who wanted a clip for the Pentagon that I, gave her. The original clip was bent several times, and eventually just removed, and thrown away. Also the blade did show some rust speckling after only being in salt water for a few minutes. This is a very good heavy duty knife, and will be with me for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from power house I carried this knife for about six (6) years for both daily carry and work. I have put it through the passes cutting things like PVC pipe, quarter inch thick cardboard roles, rubber belting reinforced with wire, even coping down smal trees. The knife held an edge better than any knife I have carried prior. the only drawback I had was the clip design. when clipped in my pocket the tip of the clip could snag putting stress and bending it. Finally after all these years it finally snapped off. I would definitely recommend this knife to anyone who needs a reliable blade that is easy to maneuver even with heavy winter gloves on.
