    SOG Assisted Technology

    SOG Assisted Technology

SOG Assisted Technology (S.A.T.) works through the balance of opposing high-tension coil springs. As you initiate the opening action, the force propelling your blade open becomes greater than the force keeping it closed. The result is a blade that springs open instantly once it is engaged, seemingly on its own.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Almost impossible to open comfortably w. thumbstud I picked this knife up new about a week ago or so. I have many knives in my collection, including a great many assisted openers. The Trident Elite TiNi I received comes with the blade open inside it's box with a plastic or rubber cover over the blade tip. As soon as I pulled back the blade lock button and tried closing the blade, I found it took quite a bit of pressure to close it. It took even more pressure to open the blade using the thumbstud and the safety off. Occasionally, it would open with somewhat less force on the thumbstud, but sometimes it wouldn't open at all despite almost gouging a hole in my thumb on the stud. I tried opening and closing the blade many times by hand thinking maybe it just needed to loosen up. No joy. I also tried lubricating it (without disassembly), thinking perhaps it was just dry around the pivot or elsewhere. Again, no joy. I have returned the knife to the dealer for a refund, and decided to order another one from another dealer to give the knife a 2nd chance in case I got a lemon. I'll report back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent all around. This knife is awesome. It takes a little getting used to at first. The release works well once you realize how it works. It seemed the release and safety buttons were broken and/or weak, but once I realized how they work it is rugged and easy to use. This is hands down the best knife I have ever had!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from USA Made, Tested, and Approved I picked up this knife while on vacation. What a work of art! This is the manly mans knife, no doubt about it. The blade is extremely sharp and is lightening fast upon deployment. Also, the quality is amazing and, most importantly, it is made in the great USA. I would highly recommend adding this piece to your collection!

    SOG Warranty Information

All SOG products are guaranteed against defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the original purchaser. This guarantee is voided (as determined by SOG) by misuse, abuse, improper maintenance, or alterations of the product and does not cover any normal wear or tear that might occur. Using your SOG folding blade or fixed blade knife for any purpose other than cutting or puncturing is considered abuse and may void your warranty.

    SOG Unconditional Pocket Clip Warranty

Pocket clips can be broken if they are accidentally caught on foreign objects while wearing. To help prevent such occurrences, SOG recommends that you wear your knife in your front pocket, with the knife inside your pocket. If, for whatever reason, your clip bends or breaks and you would like to receive a replacement, fill out the Clip Request Form, or email/call SOG's warranty department. Damage to a knife handle because a clip has snagged is not considered "normal," and any such damage will be assessed under warranty. Learn more about replacing pocket clips in Knife & Tool Care.
