Aegis (ee-jis), which in Greek means shield or protection, is also the code name for the world's premier integrated air defense system and the sea-based element of the United States Ballistic Missile Defense System.
Our comprehensive Aegis line of premier folders is fully integrated with top end systems. Start to open the knife, and let Aegis finish the action with a bang, using one of the surest assisted technologies (S.A.T.) out there! Our trademark bayonet reversible clip, built in safety with red/ready to go, and checkered DigiGrip™ handles all contribute to make Aegis a platform for today's changing world. Cover your back with Aegis outdoor or tactical blades.

SOG Assisted Technology (S.A.T.) works through the balance of opposing high-tension coil springs. As you initiate the opening action, the force propelling your blade open becomes greater than the force keeping it closed. The result is a blade that springs open instantly once it is engaged, seemingly on its own.

Two are better than oneThis is a great knife. Never fails to open. I carry one in each pocket. If someone has my one hand or arm I have another for a quick response. Won't leave home without them.

Great KnifeThis really is an awesome knife at a good price. Had it for four months and abuse it occasionally. Holds an edge perfectly. My only complaint would be the pocket clip, there is a space above the clip that allows the top of my jeans to roll over the end of the handle. This causes it to be a little hard to pull from my pocket in a hurry.

Ability to openI lost the top part of my right thumb so I had to go thru a lot of knives to find one that I could open. I have found with a little practice that this knife is easy (& getting easier) to open. I like the carry, the blade shape & how sharp out-of-the-box it is. The price is right as well. My next knife will one of the higher end SOG'S to add to my collection. All in all I am pleased with this knife.

one handy knifeI always carry this knife as I have come to depend on it for all situations. The knife is compact and light; so light you can forget it's in your pocket. The blade deploys rapidly with just a flick of your thumb. more often than not, the one-handed operation is the norm for me. The blade does not take an edge easily, but when you have it sharp it tends to stay that way. the blade shape lends itself well to most cutting tasks and it looks as if it could be employed in skinning a game animal with ease. the steel and the thickness of the blade allows you to open steel cans of food in lieu of a can opener in a pinch. I am pleased with this knife and I feel it is superior to the other knives I've carried. Thanks sog!

SOG reserves the right to the repair or replacement of a product at our discretion. Products that are discontinued and not repairable will be replaced with a gift certificate of the last MSRP value, as determined by SOG, which can be used for a future purchase.
Rusted/spotted/stained blades or handles (coated or not), broken or bent knife tips, worn tool components, dull/chipped knife blades, scratched blade/tool coatings, worn/loose Kraton slabs, sheaths and pouches (if brand new sheaths are determined to be defective they are replaced separately from the knife/tool), and broken/lost thumb studs.
Pocket clips can be broken if they are accidentally caught on foreign objects while wearing. To help prevent such occurrences, SOG recommends that you wear your knife in your front pocket, with the knife inside your pocket. If, for whatever reason, your clip bends or breaks and you would like to receive a replacement, fill out the Clip Request Form, or email/call SOG's warranty department. Damage to a knife handle because a clip has snagged is not considered "normal," and any such damage will be assessed under warranty. Learn more about replacing pocket clips in Knife & Tool Care.
