Overview

The Flash II has got to be one of the coolest knives we've ever seen. Forget its wicked-quick blade access, that it handles like a race car on rails, or that it locks up like Alcatraz. It just looks and feels extraordinary. The Flash family of knives feature SOG Assisted Technology (S.A.T.), which employs a powerful piston lock that is easily released with a sliding button.

Description

The Flash II has got to be one of the coolest knives we've ever seen. Forget its wicked-quick blade access, that it handles like a race car on rails, or that it locks up like Alcatraz. It just looks and feels extraordinary. The Flash family of knives feature SOG Assisted Technology (S.A.T.), which employs a powerful piston lock that is easily released with a sliding button.

The Flash II (Partially Serrated) comes standard with glass-reinforced nylon (GRN) handle and 1/2 serrated blade. All Flash knives come standard with SOG's patent pending, reversible bayonet mounted clip that ensures the lowest, most discreet carry possible. We also had the foresight to incorporate an additional safety lock that gives added security when the blade is closed.

    SOG Assisted Technology

    SOG Assisted Technology

SOG Assisted Technology (S.A.T.) works through the balance of opposing high-tension coil springs. As you initiate the opening action, the force propelling your blade open becomes greater than the force keeping it closed. The result is a blade that springs open instantly once it is engaged, seemingly on its own.

Customer Ratings & Reviews

Flash II is rated 4.5789 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as good as I thought. Cons: I bought this knife a year ago and it has lots of problems already, the blade has play in both directions and the screws stripped after taking it apart twice...the lock also does not engage if you don't flick the blade open really hard. Pros: It is a nice weight and it came super sharp, the pocket clip hides the knife well and the handle is a great shape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from lightweight utility/every day carry knife i've had this knife for two or three years ago and i can say that it's a great knife; lightweight, functional, quick to deploy, and comfortable to hold in hand and use. it is not a great looking knife, but definitely a very practical and usable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my SOF I have owned my SOG now for over 3 years. I carry it every day. It has been a great EDC knife. Assisted opening still crisp. Blade in good shape. Been very pleased with the performance of my SOG.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Safe and Reliable I bought my SOG Flash II because not only could I open it single-handed, but I could close it single-handed too. On an emergency scene, in the chaos that sometimes occurs, I didn't want someone bumping me while I was closing my knife, getting my fingers caught in the action in the process. The Flash II allows me to trip the safety lock and fold it closed over my leg, never getting fingers in the way. It never fails to snap open and stays sharp for long use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong, easy to use work horse. I use this knife everyday. I'm a aircraft mechanic and work on everything on the aircraft. I use my Flash 2 to cut rubber seals, open parts boxes, remove screws, pry metal gaskets off, peal and scrap sealant, etc, etc. I can't count how many times in a work day that I instinctively reach down, pull it out of my front pocket to help me perform a task. It has a good grip and locks tight. I've never been concerned about it giving way or breaking when I use it even under extreme conditions. I have used this same knife for over five years. I don't baby this knife. I just sharpen it occasionally and adjust the pocket clip. Two other guys I work with were impressed with my Flash 2 and bought one. Great tool, great knife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable and Fun I have had this knife for over 3 years and in that time it had performed without failure. I have abused it dropped it and generally used it in all types of situations and never have to worry that it will be there for me. U have owned many different brands of knives but this by fast had been the best. Great knife.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from EDC I carry this knife everyday. From cutting open taped boxes for work to sawing at stuff in the woods, this knife has held up very well. Good size. Like the locking mechanism and that the assist open still works well after two years of EDC.

    SOG Unconditional Pocket Clip Warranty

Pocket clips can be broken if they are accidentally caught on foreign objects while wearing. To help prevent such occurrences, SOG recommends that you wear your knife in your front pocket, with the knife inside your pocket. If, for whatever reason, your clip bends or breaks and you would like to receive a replacement, fill out the Clip Request Form, or email/call SOG's warranty department. Damage to a knife handle because a clip has snagged is not considered "normal," and any such damage will be assessed under warranty. Learn more about replacing pocket clips in Knife & Tool Care.
